Thirty years of crisis intervention has taught me to see the good ones. Not everyone can do this. Few can do it well.
With knowledge, understanding and kindness, Marsha can weave healing through the wounded hearts of those hurting so desperately and deeply without ever making one feel like a victim. It is a true talent that begins from the heart and ends in the heart of another. She is one of the few!
— Chaplain Danny Lynchard Executive Director, Tulsa Police/Fire Chaplaincy Corps
Who responds to the needs of the first responders?
One of the community’s best is Tulsa Police/Fire Chaplain Marsha Johnson. She works on scene and in the classroom to help fire personnel with grief and self-care strategies. Tulsa Fire is excited to have Marsha Johnson as part of their response team. Her passion for grief recovery and dedication to the community is rarely matched.

— Chief Michael Baker Director of EMS, Tulsa Fire Department
DaySpring Villa provides services to adult human sex trafficking victims. As the Executive Director, I noted that our staff was experiencing ‘vicarious trauma’.
Marsha was referred to us and soon after conducted a Grief Relief workshop. Following the seminar, the change in the staff’s demeanor was so significant that Marsha was asked to provide weekly grief care support for our staff and volunteers.
Marsha’s work at DaySpring Villa has significantly reduced employee stress and staff turnover. With an increase in overall personal well-being, the staff is empowered and better equipped to more effectively meet the needs of the women who seek shelter at DaySpring Villa.
— Wilma Lively Executive Director, DaySpring Villa
Marsha Johnson has proven to be a blessing not only to our families who are mourning but also to our hospice staff who experience death and grieving on a weekly basis. She relates to those who grieve as one who will join them in their journey towards recovery. Her workshops have proven to bring a cohesion of those who are struggling with their grief and those who have traveled a bit further down that road.
— Randy Shaddox, Chaplain
